Amazon Australia has revealed a double whammy: the man who will oversee its business and its base for local operations.
Despite industry speculation, former Myer deputy CEO Daniel Bracken has not been appointed to helm the business.
The online giant has appointed Rocco Braeuniger, director of consumables at Amazon Germany, as Australian country manager.
Ragtrader sister publication AdNews revealed the appointed today.
Braeuniger joined Amazon in early 2006 as product manager for pricing process implementation.
Before Amazon, Braeuniger worked in consulting for five years.
The online retailer has also revealed its first Australian distribution warehouse in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs.
Amazon has announced it will open a 24,000 square metre fulfilment centre in Dandenong South at the M2 industrial park.
