Jacinta James will launch with an artisan collection entitled Arctic Willow.
Creative director Jacinta Demetriou is introducing the range for wholesale for autumn/winter 2016.
Demetriou has ventured on her own after working with the likes of Rick Owens, Donna Karan and Kit Willow.
The debut collection will be made-to-order in a bid to reduce the carbon footprint of the brand.
Each garment is made locally by hand, with exclusive prints and European fabrics.
Woven Italian leather, silk, Italian mohair and Australian-made viscose knits form the building blocks of the collection.
Statement pieces include a leather shift dress with tie-detailing and a cocoon wool wrap jacket.
Demetriou said the brand will be positioned as conceptual luxury, with prices ranging from $295 to $1200.
"I wanted to undo traditional techniques and develop my own methods of composition and deconstruction that both expresses and celebrates the construction of each garment."
Demetriou is a graduate of Monash University and RMIT, where she graduated with Honors as the DUX of her year.
