Australian online men's tailor InStitchu has today launched a second retail store in Melbourne after recording burgeoning sales figures.
The business is aiming to double down on a hybrid online-offline business model in a bid to offer the domestic market a unique experience in bespoke menswear.
The decision follows an average order value increase of 112% in the last year, with plans to open four more stores around the country.
InStitchu currently operates a showroom in Sydney launched late last year and following success wants to expand its omni-channel retail presence.
The company's co-founder James Wakefield said that the business hopes to incorporate the best of a traditional tailoring experience through physical retail and the ease of shopping online.
“Similar to the George St, Sydney showroom, our new heritage Lonsdale Street location incorporates a mix of old-world charm and luxury, where customers can be fitted by experienced professionals, and try on physical samples.
“They can get a feel for the quality materials, while enjoying some of the traditions of a suit fitting.
“The experience also incorporates technological elements from InStitchu.com, to give millions of combinations of fabrics, colours, styles, and designs.
“The majority of our suit orders are made directly online, where we have simple guides and video instructions for customers to measure themselves.
“For those who prefer to come into the showroom, however, we’ve created a tactile experience that gives them the confidence that what they are ordering is in line with how they pictured it.”
InStitchu Melbourne is located at Mitchell House in Lonsdale.
