Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) is now calling on budding fashion designers to apply for the Target Australia National Graduate Showcase.

Running for its third consecutive year, the show will run as part of the VAMFF 2016 official schedule, offering the winning designer a $25,000 grant and a chance to sell a one-off capsule collection in Target Australia stores.

VAMFF CEO Graeme Lewsey said that the showcase has helped launch the careers of previous recipients Gabrielle Brown and Rachael Zheng.

"We are proud to be one of the most influential organisations in Australia for discovering and nurturing design graduates, with the National Graduate Showcase and the support of Target Australia kick-starting the careers of some of the nation's brightest including Rachael Zheng and Gabrielle Brown."

Target Australia managing director Stuart Machin said that the company aims to nurture upcoming Australian labels.

“Target is focused on harnessing the best Australian talent and we're pleased to be able to present this prestigious program which gives young designers an unparalleled head start in the industry, backed by the mentorship of experts in the field."

Applicants are advised to submit a capsule folio of their work by November 23.

VAMFF 2016 is set to run from March 7-13.
