The Iconic has revealed it now has a customer buying swimwear from the site every five minutes.

The etailer continues its success in the category, this year hosting Sydney Harbour’s first ever floating runway show.

Filmed in real-time, the show was lived streamed on Facebook and allowed consumers the opportunity to show the looks in as they were shown on the runway.

In terms of year-on-year growth for the category, the company revealed the following 'quirky' facts to demonstrate its value:

  • The Iconic could easily cover the entire Pacific Islands in bikinis twice if it laid out each unique swimwear item sold end-to-end.
  • With the growth in the Swimwear category this year alone, you could buy a very fancy 3 bedroom apartment on Campbell Parade in Bondi or Manly overlooking the beach.

Playing host to 120 swim and summer looks, the show featured brands such as Seafolly, Tigerlily, Tommy Hilfiger, Academy Brand, Jets, Converse, Calvin Klein, Billabong and Camilla.

The Iconic CEO Patrick Schmidt said the success of the show and growth of the category highlighted the company's constantly improving speed to market.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do at The Iconic - from curating a world-class product assortment, to bringing them world-first fashion shows; we love to push the boundaries for our customers by creating inspiring and exciting shopping experiences.

"Our local and international designers enable us to provide our customers with the best brands in Australia and New Zealand.

"Being able to offer customers real-time access to the hottest trends straight off the catwalk and at the peak of when they are actively searching for summer looks is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
