The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival has revealed its rising stars.

12 student designers have been selected to showcase their graduate collection at the National Graduate Showcase on March 13.

The National Graduate Showcase celebrates the next generation of Australian fashion designers, handpicked from renowned design institutions and universities across the country.

Selected from over 90 entrants by a panel of industry leaders, the 12 finalists will showcase their graduate collection at Showroom II Runway of the Royal Exhibition Building to over 500 guests.

Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival acting chief Yolanda Finch said she is honoured to continue to support some of Australia’s brightest fashion talent.

“The National Graduate Showcase provides a unique platform for aspiring designers to share their talent with some of the country’s top media and fashion leaders and, in the process, gain experience working with the best in the business behind the scenes of a runway production.

"We make available our expert producers, stylists, music directors and technical crew to these talented graduates, as they prepare a full scale consumer and industry facing runway.

"Each year we are inspired by the innovation and creativity of the entrants, and 2020 is no exception.

"This program and the runway itself is so exciting because we get a glimpse into how exceptional this country’s fashion design institutions are, to be educating and nurturing students of this calibre.

"We look forward to viewing a spectacular showcase in March and watching as these talented graduates continue to excel to become some of Australia’s best and brightest designers,” Finch said.
