The former boss under The Just Group, Teresa Rendo, has taken on a new c-suite role in a sector just outside of her usual remit.
Viva Energy Group Limited has confirmed Rendo will take on its role of CEO of convenience and mobility.
Rendo has worked across Australian retail for over 20 years, beginning her retail career as a program manager at Woolworths Group. Since then, she worked across the Woolworths portfolio, including at its low-price business Big W.
When she left Big W in 2022, she had grown to be the chief commercial officer and was acting managing director for eight months. That same year, she took on the role of managing director of The Just Group, running the five apparel brands Just Jeans, Jay Jays, Jacqui E, Dotti and Portmans. There she managed over 700 stores and around 5,000 staff.
A few months after the five brands were officially snapped up by Myer in 2024/25 in a landmark deal with Solomon Lew’s Premier Investments, Rendo announced her resignation.
In her new role at Viva Energy, Rendo will relocate to Adelaide and transition into the new role, and will formally assume responsibilities from interim CEO Jennifer Gray in July 2026. Gray will then continue to support Rendo through to the end of the year.
Viva Energy managing director and group CEO Scott Wyatt welcomed her to the executive leadership team.
“Teresa is an accomplished retail leader with deep experience across trading, product sourcing and innovation as well as operational excellence in multi‑brand environments,” Wyatt said. “She will bring a strong retail execution focus which is essential to drive customer experience, top-line growth, and operational excellence.
“She is excited about building a world class convenience business and I am confident Teresa will accelerate our progress towards this goal.”
