What does it take to crash one of the biggest retailers in Australia?
Missoni.
Discount department store Target suffered an online meltdown moments after launching the range at 8am yesterday.
The website continued to suffer throughout the afternoon.
“We’ve seen a huge response today to the launch of Missoni for Target,” Target said in a statement to media.
“Unfortunately the unprecedented traffic to our website has meant many customers have not been able to get onto the site to place their orders.
“We do apologise to those affected customers and want to reassure them that we’re working hard to get the site stabilised.”
The range has been reportedly been flying off shelves in stores nationally.
The 220 piece collection is the largest designer collaboration for Target Australia.
It spans homewares, swimwear, apparel and footwear with prices ranging from $10 to $169 for statement pieces.
