Target Australia has followed the lead of sister company Kmart.
Target Australia has published a list of its Bangladesh factory partners, as part of a supply transparency initiative.
Last year, Wesfarmers-owned sister company Kmart also revealed plans to publish a list of supplier factories in all countries.
Target was one of the first Australian retailers to sign the Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety.
It was also one of the first Australian retailers to publicly commit to publishing details of its factory suppliers.
Target will progressively release information by the close of 2015.
Target has also been a member of Impactt’s Benefits for Business and Workers Program since December 2013.
The program works with factories in developing countries to improve training, conditions and pay rates for factory workers.
Thirteen of Target’s Bangladeshi supplier factories have so far signed on to the Program.
The remainder are expected to do so in coming months.
