Retail staff and their customers in selected New South Wales local government areas are now required to wear masks indoors, as the Sydney eastern suburbs COVID outbreak develops.
People in the Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour local government areas are now required to wear masks in selected indoor settings including in shopping centres and supermarkets.
The rules came into effect on June 22 at 4pm and will be in effect until 12.01am on Thursday 01 July.
Other indoor settings where masks are now required include workplaces, entertainment venues, places of public worship, aged care facilities and the gaming section of a pub or club.
NSW Health confirmed 13 new cases from 8pm yesterday evening to 11am this morning.
At a press conference this morning, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed further restrictions which will take effect from 4pm today (23 June), including wearing masks at organised outdoor events, the 'one per four square metre' rule, reduced capacity at large venues and restricting non-essential travel from metro-Sydney.
NSW Health is also encouraging anyone who went to Westfield Bondi Junction (including the carpark) between 12-18 June to get tested for COVID.
