Sydney airport makes fashion history
The world's largest duty free store has launched in Sydney.
Heinemann has claimed the title after unveiling a 10,000 square metre emporium at Sydney International Airport.
The site boasts 719 brands across fashion, accessories, grooming, food, beverage and technology.
Heinemann Australia MD Constantin Wiesmann said Sydney is the jewel in the company's global crown.
"We are proud to reveal the world’s largest duty free store here at Sydney International Airport.
"We bring to our new home an abundance of luxury brands at exceptional prices, and we are thrilled to deliver a world class retail experience to the local market.
“The opening marks a great milestone for Gebr. Heinemann and the start of a long future here in Australia.”
The precinct spans six stores and includes two dining concepts in partnership with the Trippas White Group and chef Luke Mangan, along with various in-store customer experiences.
For the first time, brands including Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Zegna are available to customers.
The emporium also includes a premium spirits lounge, tasting bar, gifting section, and an area targeted at male passengers called Men@Work, offering men’s grooming products, fashion, accessories as well as alcohol.
Heinemann is a 137-year-old family owned business with more than 300 stores globally across 80 countries, servicing more than 40 million customers annually.
