Australian womenswear brand Sussan is marking 20 years since it partnered with the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), launching a Mother’s Day capsule.
Since 2005, Sussan has raised $3.3 million for BCNA. The partnership has enabled BCNA to influence national health policy, fund critical services and amplify the voices of women diagnosed with breast cancer.
Sussan managing director Natalie Aardoom said this is a 20-year commitment to showing up for women when it matters most.
“We’ve worked alongside BCNA to ensure women not only feel seen, heard and supported throughout their breast cancer journey but that their experiences lead to stronger policy, better care and more accessible support,” Aardoom said.
“This partnership is deeply personal to our teams, customers and the thousands of women it’s reached. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”
According to BCNA and Sussan, the partnership has helped fund over 300 BCNA community liaisons across Australia, delivered tailored support to more than 18,000 users of its My Journey app, and has supported training for over 80 women to advocate at national health and policy levels.
The partnership also included the donation of over a 1,000 pairs of Australian cotton pyjamas to women attending BCNA forums, and helped reach more than 30,000 Australians through the Work & Breast Cancer Hub, as well as advocated for under-represented community such as First Nations, LGBTQ people, remote communities and those with metastatic breast cancer.
“There are very few charities who can boast a very real and genuine partnership like the one we have with Sussan,” BCNA CEO Kirsten Pilatti said.
“Our partnership has created real change for those affected by breast cancer. Over 20 years Sussan has helped us to inform, support, connect and be the voice for hundreds and thousands of Australians. We could not be prouder of what we have achieved together.”
Ahead of Mother’s Day, Sussan has released their latest BCNA Pink for Good capsule collection.
The limited-edition collection includes bamboo pyjama sets, gowns, Australian cotton ‘Mini-Me’ pyjamas, and socks, with proceeds from every sale going to BCNA.
