Billabong-backed etailer SurfStitch has crossed another milestone, just months after its spectacular launch into the European market.

The local online retailer, which opened its 8000sqm headquarters in France in October 2012, revealed it has increased its product offering to 400 brands now available on the website.

The milestone follows a heady trajectory for the company, which has reportedly achieved over 100 per cent year-on-year growth since its launch four years ago.

The etailer was also awarded 'Online Retailer of the Year', 'Best Pure-Play Retailer', and 'Best Site Optimisation & Design' at last year's Online Retail Industry Awards (ORIA).

Commenting on SurfStitch's most recent coup, company co-founder and managing director Lex Pedersen said it was an important step for the business.

“Reaching an offering of 400 of the world’s premium Surf, Fashion and Lifestyle brands has been an amazing achievement for the SurfStitch business. Providing our customers with exclusive and unique products, together with investing continually in our customer service and on site experience, are all things we strongly believe in,” he said.

Pedersen added that Surfstitch will be ramping up its social media and marketing activity to mark the milestone.

From this month, online followers will be able to contribute ideas of how they would turn an average day into something extraordinary. SurfStitch will then publish a shortlist of the most unique entries, offering one winner the chance to fulfil their ideal experience.

Pedersen said the initiative was derived from a company philosophy, where all 250 staff members in the SurfStitch business are encouraged to reach personal goals outside of the workplace.

From this view, an internal program was “developed to give each individual the opportunity to fulfil certain dreams that would otherwise be difficult to factor into their daily lives”.

Continuing the celebration, Surfstitch will also release a series of deals across its website fir the reminder of the month of February.
