News Corp Australia has made the decision to shutter The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Herald Sun fashion and lifestyle supplementary Sunday Style in August.
The media organisation will launch a new publication Stellar in its place.
Backed by a $6 million multi-channel marketing campaign across TV, radio, print, digital and social channels, Stellar will incorporate a range of fashion, lifestyle and entertainment stories as well as 10 pages of food content.
Sarrah Le Marquand has been appointed to the role of editor-in-chief.
Le Marquand is a current News Corp columnist and editor of opinion website RendezView.
She believes Stellar has formed a strong editorial team and will provide a well-rounded content offering.
“I’m looking forward to taking the reins of Stellar and creating a product that draws on the country's best photographers and most senior writers.
"Stellar will have a unique mix of both flair and substance, but with an edge, and readers can expect the unexpected every Sunday.
“Our content will deliver an entertaining mix of news and celebrity features, lifestyle content assembled by Australia's best fashion and beauty team, and then a second-to-none section catering to all things food.”
News Corp Australia MD metro and regional publishing Damian Eales said that the investment will cater to its largest audience.
“Sunday is our largest audience day and has long been an important day for advertisers as we know people are more receptive to brand messaging when they are in a relaxed mindset.
“The launch of Stellar is a huge investment in our Sunday audience; not only are we providing more relevant and more engaging content for our readers, but our advertisers now have the opportunity to reach readers every week in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
"No other weekend magazine can match that."
Kerrie McCallum has been appointed to the role of editorial director.
The final issue of Sunday Style will land on August 21.
