The Western Australian AIDS Council has announced UK-based designer Vivienne Westwood as part of the designer line-up for this year's StyleAid Opulent fashion fundraising event.

StyleAid, organised by the Council, its naming rights sponsor Watoday.com.au and the StyleAid Committee, is now in its 14th year and will be held at Perth's Burswood Entertainment Complex Grand Ballroom on July 29.

The event will see 18 designer collections grace the 2011 StyleAid Opulent runway, with internationally renowned designers Ann Demeulemeester, Haider Ackermann and Rick Owens to join Westwood in showcasing their spring/summer 2011 ranges.

The Vivienne Westwood spring/summer 2011 designs will debut in Australia as part of the Dilettante collection, a high-end Perth boutique and the only Australian stockist of Westwood's Gold and Westwood man lines. Zekka, another boutique known for its extensive international designer ranges, will also present collections from its retail outlet.

The black-tie soiree will also feature collections from a raft of national designers, including Aurelio Costerella, Daniella Caputi, Garth Cook, Jamie Lee, Flannel and Morrison, as well as WA designers such as ae’lkemi, Empire Rose, Fenella Peacock, One Fell Swoop, United Constructions, Zsadar and swimwear label Dhufish.

Winner of the StyleAid Absolut Creative Designer Award, Shelly Tindale, who received $5,000 from Absolut to further develop her label, Tindale, will also showcase her first collection in front of a 750-strong crowd.
