Luggage retailer Strand has just opened a new store in Rundle Mall in Adelaide CBD.
According to the retailer, the Rundle Mall store is a milestone in its national network strategy, which is set to service the greater Adelaide region and its 1.4 million residents.
The store marks the debut of the company's new ‘Evolution CBD’ concept and will serve as an important test case for its national CBD strategy.
Relocating from a previous spot at Rundle Mall, the new store occupies 290 square metres of trading space, which is 20 per cent larger than the last location. Strand also noted it is a stronger corner position, with two level frontage.
The store will also offer Click & Collect options, and houses hero spaces for Strand’s Nere and Antler labels, alongside its leather brand Evity.
"This store is a big step up for the business as part of our ongoing 'House of Brands' transformation,” group CEO Felicity McGahan said. “Better position, more space, and the first look at our new Evolution CBD concept, a store model we're excited to test and grow across our network."
Strand reported that early customer response has been strong since its opening a week ago, with the new fit-out and strong campaign marketing along the lease line driving sales and footfall above expectation.
Strand operates around over 300 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
