Luggage retailer Strand has just signed a commercial partnership with travel agency Flight Centre to boost its marketing efforts.

Under the new partnership, Strand vouchers will be available exclusively to Flight Centre customers as a value-added benefit when they purchase the agency’s travel insurance add-on called Captain’s Pack. 

Depending on the Captain’s Pack tier selected, customers will receive a Strand voucher valued at $30, $40 or $50, redeemable in conjunction with Strand promotions and available across the travel brands its stocks such as Nere, Antler, Samsonite and American Tourister.

“We’re always looking for ways to add genuine value beyond the booking,” Flight Centre global CMO Megan Henderson said. “Partnering with Strand means we can now offer our customers access to travel gear at the moment it matters most; when they have their holiday booked and are excited about the journey to come.”

According to Strand, its key goal is to help support customers at every stage of their travel journey, alongside plans to continue scaling its vertical brands in the Australia and New Zealand market. 

As well as Nere and Antler, Strand’s other owned labels also include Evity and AYA. 

The luggage retailer noted that Nere and Antler have seen strong growth over the last year, up 22 per cent 38 per cent respectively. 

Strand is now reengineering its loyalty proposition Strand+ to build further ‘instant’ rewards with strategic partners, with a re-launch to follow later this year.

"With Nere and Antler both delivering strong double-digit growth, we know Australian travellers are connecting with our brands,” Strand marketing director Prue Thomas said. 

“The Flight Centre partnership gives us a powerful new channel to reach customers with genuine intent to travel — and to reward them with access to the brands they want, at the moment they need them most."

Strand manages over 280 stores in Australia and New Zealand.
