The Strand Arcade will revive its ‘Evening with our Designers’ this year, following a 24-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will involve a month-long activation aimed at highlighting Australian design and craftsmanship.
Strand Arcade fashion retailers include Rebecca Vallance, Camilla & Marc and Dion Lee, alongside accessories brands such as Sarah & Sebastian, Rox Gems and Jewellery, Zappacosta Jewels and Courtesy of the Artist.
'Evening With Our Designers' will launch with the unveiling of work commissioned by curator Arts-Matter on August 10.
Emerging artist Orson Heinrich will collaborate with Camilla & Marc, with his art placed inside its store. Dion Lee and 3 D designer Justin Ridler will emphasise the store’s futuristic interiors, while contemporary artist Amelia Lynch will feature her work within the Bassike store.
The opening launch event will also feature a performance by Australian RnB, soul artist Forest Claudette.
“We are proud to relaunch Evening With Our Designers this year with the opportunity for our consumers to engage more personally with their favourite brands and designers,” Vicinity Centres head of brand marketing and experience Corrine Barchanowicz said. “Our aim is to celebrate the brands, artists and quality of craftspeople who reside at The Strand Arcade.
“They were all born from a high level of craftsmanship and design ethos, and we are proud to also reflect this in the collaborations and partnerships we have engaged with Arts-Matter and Forest Claudette.”
The month-long event calendar will begin with an opening event on August 10.
Amid the activations, Australian fashion label’s búl and Acler will open new stores at The Strand Arcade, with the Acler store acting as a flagship.
Sarah and Sebastian will also unviel a new menswear collection. Further activations taking place over August include a gin cart, a whisky bar, guided tours, artists discussions and book reading sessions.
The Strand Arcade was established in 1891.
