Global fashion footwear brand Steve Madden is continuing its expansion across the Australian market, opening its fourth full-price store and flagship at Highpoint Shopping Centre this April.
The new location will mark the brand’s eighth physical retail store nationally, joining existing concept stores at Doncaster, QVB Sydney and Chermside Brisbane, as well as four outlet locations at DFO Homebush, DFO Sydney Outlet Village, Eastern Creek Quarter Outlet and DFO Canberra.
The brand also manages 49 concession locations nationwide in both David Jones and Myer.
“Australia continues to be an incredibly exciting market for Steve Madden, both from a fashion perspective and from a retail growth standpoint,” Steve Madden Australia GM Charlene Perera said.
“The opening of our Highpoint store marks an important step in strengthening our physical retail presence and delivering a more elevated brand experience for customers.”
Spanning 121 square metres, the Highpoint store will debut an updated retail concept design for the brand in Australia. According to Steve Madden, the new store environment places a strong emphasis on modernity and enhanced product presentation, reflecting the contemporary and metropolitan aesthetic synonymous with the New York-born brand.
“This new concept design reflects the evolution of the brand globally, modern, comfortable and product-led, and it will help inform the next stage of our store rollout across Australia,” Perera added.
The brand is planning additional concept stores in Australia in 2026 and beyond.
The new opening also arrives at a time of strong momentum for the footwear category in Australia. According to research firm IMARC Group, the Australian footwear market size reached US$7.56 billion in 2025, equivalent to just over $10 billion in AUD.
The research firm expects the market to reach US$13.03 billion by 2034, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 6.23 per cent during 2026-2034.
“The rising penetration of e-commerce retail platforms and the introduction of advanced technical fabrications, which provide maximum comfort to individuals, are primarily driving the market growth across the country,” IMARC reported.
Highpoint centre manager Scott Jensen welcomed the Steve Madden brand to its retail mix, covering hundreds of stores across various categories.
“Known globally for its trend-forward designs and devoted fashion following, Steve Madden is an exciting addition to our centre, and we’re proud to be home to the brand's newest Australian concept store,” Jensen said.
