Australian designer brands such as Michael Lo Sordo, Christopher Esber, Kahlo and Tristan Melle have been left in the lurch after the abrupt shut-down of their sales agency.

ragtrader.com.au can confirm that fashion agency Status Agencies is set to close within a matter of weeks.

The impending closure, which has left dozens of designer clients reeling, will see all orders to Status Agencies accepted and processed up to November 15, 2013.

The decision has left some clients angered and distressed by the sudden move, which was communicated to them via a personal letter.

Explaining the decision to close the company in the text, Status Agencies owner Kristen Sinton said her choice was made due to family matters.

“Dear friends, colleagues, business associates, retailers and suppliers.

After 18 years of running a successful fashion agency I have finally decided to retire so I can dedicate my time to my 2 beautiful sons. This has not been an easy decision but it is the right decision as I feel my family needs me more than the fashion world does.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful business over the years and many happy times and memories.

It is business as usual for Status Agencies, all orders will be accepted and processed up to the 15th November 2013 and the agency will continue to operate after this for the foreseeable future as we honour our business commitments.

My staff and I will be in contact with you over the coming weeks to resolve any concerns you may have or just to have a friendly chat.

I do look forward to catching up with friends, getting fit or just laying on the beach with a magazine.

Thank you all once again and take care.

Kristen Sinton.”
