YTD discusses its latest acquisition - TOD's.

YTD CEO Yvonne Yeoh will reveal how the sky's the limit for luxury in Australia, when she joins the lineup for Ragtrader Live 2014.

The event will be staged at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney on August 12.

In the meantime, she gives us a quick insight into the recent launch of TOD's in Australia.

What made this the right time for Tod's to expand into Australia?

Australia is starting to appreciate luxury brands more than ever. The TOD’S Westfield Sydney store is a strategic opening that adds to its regional Asia-Pacific network. To celebrate the official opening, TOD’S hosted a cocktail party with an artisan demonstration on Wednesday 11th June. The Artisan was made available to the public for personalisation from the 12th – 15th June.

Are there any plans to continue expanding in Australia?

Sydney is the first Australian boutique for TOD’S to establish the brand’s first official footprint in the market. The Sydney boutique features a wide range of TOD’S bags, shoes and accessories, including the new TOD’S D-Cube bag in beautiful contrasting colors as well as a selection of unique and exclusive handbags. Melbourne is a promising market with many brands launching and expanding. After all it is Australia’s self-proclaimed “fashion capital” and foresees activity in 2015.

Are there any other plans for further expansion locally?

Westfield Sydney is the first official TOD’S boutique. Westfield and TOD’S share a common passion to take luxury retail to the next level with the quality of in-store shopping and brand experience to the Australian consumer. There is currently no online/e-commerce available yet. TOD’S is a leader in the shoe and luxury leather goods industry and I would like to ensure all Aussies own a pair of the classic “Gommini”.
