Sportsgirl, Leanne Whitehouse and Berlei were among top winners at the 2011 Fashion Group International (Sydney) Awards for Excellence.
Staged at a luxury showroom in East Sydney on Friday evening (March 18), the red carpet event saw fast fashion retailer Sportsgirl beat out Seafolly and Ella Bache in the Corporate Leadership category.
Other major brand winners included footwear retailer PeepToe, which scooped the Rising Star award, and intimate apparel giant Berlei, which beat out Australian Fashion Week founder Simon Lock for the Innovation Excellence top gong.
Meanwhile, Lizzy Gardiner received the Costume Design award while The Social Studio was recognised for the Sustainable Design category.
Fashion education pioneer Leanne Whitehouse took out the final accolade of the evening, surpassing Lock and designer Carla Zampatti for the Lifetime Achievement award.
