Two brands have joined forces to release a limited edition capsule of espadrilles - to be launched in Australia on Thursday.
Deb Sams and Mary Lou Ryan, from Australian apparel brand Bassike, have linked up with footwear company Soludos, which was started by New Yorker Nick Brown. The partnership between the two sees the launch of the Soludos X Bassike espadrille shoe.
The sustainably produced jute sole is thicker than the classic Soludos one and the organic cotton upper part of the shoe is vegetable-dyed.
They will be available in simplistic two-tone colour variations of ink and panna cotta, priced $49.95, and will be sold at Bassike stores, David Jones and certain boutiques.
“Long valued in the Mediterranean, where espadrilles have been worn for over five centuries, their classic style and comfort makes the Soludos X Bassike shoes perfect for the beach, the city and everywhere in between,” a brand spokesman said.
“Soludos have taken this enduring style and added some of their own touches for comfort and a better fit while retaining the integrity of this design classic.”
