A South-Australian based startup has no concerns about a string of recent lawsuits launched by celebrated footwear designer Christian Louboutin, revealing its own new red sole enterprise.

Partners Grace Putch and David Rawlins will launch Secret Solini next month, a shoe accessory allowing wearers to change the colour of their soles through an adhesive range of designs and colours.

The product is packaged as a three box set, featuring a shoe cleaning wipe, fitting instructions and a safety knife to trim excess material.

"The idea is that women can now have that famous ‘designer look’ of red soles on their shoes without the high price tag," Putch said. "[Versions of] this product [have] been a huge success in the European and US markets and after conducting many months of market research we are confident this trend will take off in the Australian market too."

Secret Solini will be available through online store secretsolini.com.au early next month, with the company also seeking retailers to stock the brand.

Prices range from $19.99 for the three box set or $12.99 for a kit containing one sole and no scissors. Putch said she is not concerned by recent action taken against footwear brands featuring red soles by footwear maestro Christian Louboutin.

"Yes this product is a little controversial however Mr Louboutin has just recently lost his case against Yves Saint Laurent over the copycat red sole shoes they made. Yes he trademarked the red soles however the judge of that particular case maintained that Christian cannot trademark the colour red or shoe soles."

The brand is similar to Rosso Solini Secret Soles, an international company specialising in shoe sole adhesives.
