Wollongong-based clothing and merchandise company Aceit has taken out the 'Best Exporter' award for the Illawarra region at the Premier's New South Wales Export Awards.
The small business competed against 78 other finalists across nineteen categories to take out the title.
Aceit currently supplies a range of work and sporting uniforms across Australia and has been in operation for around 25 years.
The company's MD Gino Arcella said the award marks a major milestone for the business.
“It’s a proud moment that, after 25 years working in the Illawarra, we’re at this point, beating some really big businesses in the export game.
“This is especially important to us at this time because of how much growth and competition there is at the moment in the Illawarra.
“With some of Australia’s largest businesses now here and so many people being drawn to the area, there is a lot more opportunity and sense of potential.”
Aceit has signed off on a lucrative three-contract to supply lawn bowls uniforms to an English team.
