Melbourne Central has launched The Laneway Assembly to celebrate the history of its famous laneways and culture scene.
The campaign will feature a range of activities, performances and tours for consumers to position the centre as a hub for art and entertainment.
These include:
Morning Ritual Performances
Intimate performances by some of Melbourne’s most promising emerging talents.
Menzies Alley- Friday 8 May, 8am to 10:30am.
Walk to Art Tour
A guided tour of Melbourne Central’s most famous artworks. From the Lucy Lucy and Slicer mural to the floating Hamish Munro sculpture on Level 2, Bernadette Alibrando will head the tour.
Sunday 10 May, 2pm and 3pm. Bookings required.
Unlocked Tours – Laneway Edition
Local historian Dale Campisi will lead customers on a free laneway-themed edition of his Unlocked Tours. The classic route winds through Melbourne Central and reveals all the secrets of the Shot Tower, Marionette Watch and Glass Cone.

Urban Sketchers Exhibition
One-of-a-kind drawings by Melbourne’s Urban Sketchers group.
Glass Cube, Level 2-Wednesday 20 May to Wednesday 27 May.
Buskers
Buskers will entertain consumers every Friday with a variety of musical performances.
Knox Place, QE Walk & Menzies Alley-7:30am to 10:30am every Friday for the month of May.
The pinnacle of the month will be the return of One Day Shopping Festival on Wednesday 20 May.
