Leading etailer Shoes of Prey revealed it has secured funding in the millions from several investors in Australia and the US.
Shoe designer and co-founder of the online footwear store, Jodie Fox, confirmed the company has raised $3 million from a raft of investors.
These include, US venture capitalist Bill Tai, Silicon Valley blogger/investor Michael Arrington's CrunchFund and Mike Cannon-Brookes, co-founder of home-grown global enterprise software powerhouse Atlassian.
Fox said the company, based in Sydney, aims to use the extra funds to boost the business's staff count – with plans to increase the Shoes of Prey team from 14 to 24.
According to Fox, there are also plans in the pipeline to take site mainstream with a significant marketing campaign.
Fox and co-founders Michael Fox and Mike Knapp launched the Shoes of Prey site in October 2009.
As previously reported on ragtrader.com.au, Fox won the Hudson Private and Corporate Sector Award at the 2011 Telstra Business Women's awards. She has also been nominated as the Cosmopolitan magazine "fun, fearless and fabulous female of the year".
The company has also invested in a sister site for Shoes of Prey, titled Sneaking Duck, which sells custom-made prescription glasses.
