Embattled athleisure brand Stax has attracted significant interest from a range of interested parties, with several offers tabled with the receivers.

Joseph Hansell, one of the receivers looking after Stax, confirmed with Ragtrader that several non-binding indicative offers have been received from credible buyers.

Founded by Don Robertson and Matilda Murray in 2015, Stax sells a range of everyday essentials through an online channel and two boutique stores in the Sydney CBD and Liverpool.

Hansell and Asjadi Hone of FTI Consulting were appointed as receivers and managers of the company late last month.

Hansell said his team have since shortlisted parties, based on the attractiveness of their offers, for phase two of the sale process which has already commenced.

“Phase two of the sale process involves further detailed due diligence with final binding offers expected to be received on Friday 24 July 2026.”

When the business first entered receivership last month, Hansell had said Stax is a well-known Australian brand with strong customer support.

“Stax has done something genuinely impressive proving that premium activewear does not have to choose between performance and style.”

This receivership comes after the brand shrunk its store count in recent years. By 2024, the brand held around 12 physical stores, but most of these were shuttered over the last year.
