Seafolly has been salvaged from from termination, with administrators handing the business back to its owners L Carterton.
However after a review of the sales history of the retail network, administrators decided to close its Sunburn network as it was largely loss making.
The store closures were done in two tranches on July 6 (seven stores) and 13 July 2020 (seven stores).
Sunburn sells a variety of swim and surf brands, including Seafolly.
On July 14, administrators also closed six Seafolly stores which were loss making.
The retail employees attached to these stores were made redundant.
All excess stock was transferred to a warehouse provider or to other outlets.
The administrators continue to trade the remaining Seafolly Group retail stores, outlets, and online platforms.
