Australian designer label Scanlan Theodore has opened two new stores in 2026, starting the year with 25 stores across Australia and six across the United States.
The two new stores are located at both Chatswood Chase in Sydney’s north and at the Canberra Centre in the Australian Capital Territory.
“Looking ahead to 2026, expansion will remain strategic and disciplined,” the label shared. “Rather than targeting scale for scale’s sake, our focus is on sustainable growth in key global cities.”
According to Scanlan Theodore, the brand takes a highly considered approach to retail expansion, prioritising premium retail precincts and leading shopping destinations that align with its client and brand positioning.
“However, location is only one part of the equation,” the label added. “The physical environment itself is critical.
“Our boutiques are conceived as immersive cultural spaces where fashion, art and architecture converge. We seek locations that allow us to express that architectural intent – generous proportions, strong sightlines and the ability to create a cohesive, gallery-like experience.”
The brand’s two new stores were created in collaboration with Flack Studio, an architectural firm in Fitzroy, Melbourne.
According to the duo, the customer response so far has been “overwhelmingly” positive.
“A successful store today must offer more than a point of sale – it must offer immersion, service and emotional connection,” Scanlan Theodore shared. “Our boutiques, including the recent openings developed in collaboration with Flack Studio, are designed to evoke intimate luxury.
“Curated Australian artworks, refined materiality and tailored fitting rooms create an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and deeply personal.
“Equally important is the service model. Scanlan Theodore is known for a highly personalised selling ceremony, where stylists work with clients season after season to build wardrobes thoughtfully and strategically. This continuity fosters loyalty and trust.”
