Sass & Bide drama over

Sass & Bide is stepping back into the limelight after a period of turmoil.

Last year, design director Anthony Cuthbertson abandoned the label four months after showcasing his debut range at London Fashion Week.

The move followed the departure of co-founders Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton just a year earlier.

Sass & Bide is now preparing to introduce its highly anticipated collection under newly appointed creative director Therese Rawsthorne.

Could this offer some clues on inspiration for the new range?

Rawsthorne, an acclaimed designer in her own right, joined the label from her position as Witchery design manager.

The new fall/spring 2016 collection, Amante Amore, will be introduced at Sass & Bide's flagship boutique in Paddington on April 7.

In February, Ragtrader magazine revealed the appointment of Julie Malandin as the brand's first chief operating officer.

The company’s CEO Julie Otter told Ragtrader a strong focus on omnichannel retail would be a core component of its growth strategy.

“It’s been far more exciting than challenging in building the foundations for the new growth strategy, which will roll out over the next three to five years.

"These changes will anchor the iconic Australian brand for a future omnichannel success.”

Otter said Sass & Bide was in confidential discussions with a number potential global partners.

“We are looking forward to taking Sass & Bide to the world!”.
