Charity organisation Salvos Stores has launched its latest campaign 'Fashion with a Conscience' in alignment with 'National Op Shop Week'.
The campaign will kick off to encourage consumers to recycle and repurpose garments to reduce waste caused by mass production.
Participating Salvos stores will feature a capsule wardrobe display to inspire customers to purchase second hand items and pull together an outfit for less than $250.
Consumers can vote for the best capsule wardrobe via Salvos' Facebook page to win a $500 gift card.
Salvos Stores CEO Matt Davis believes the campaign will help promote awareness about a range of social and industry issues.
"Fashion with a Conscience is about thinking twice about where you source your clothes.
"Fashion is one of the most wasteful industries in the world, that's why it’s so important to reuse, reinvent and recycle our clothing as often as we can.
"Purchasing from Salvos Stores not only has this benefit, but your newest jacket, t-shirt or pair of jeans ensures that we can continue to provide hot meals, beds, counselling and more through our programs making an impact on the lives of Aussies in need.”
The campaign will launch in Salvos Stores across Australia on Monday August 22.
'National Op Shop Week' will run from August 21-27.
