Global outdoor-wear brand Salomon is set to open its largest-ever store in Australia on the West Coast.

On August 15 next week, the global brand will open a new Australian flagship store at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, northwest of Perth CBD. This marks the retailer’s first-ever venture into Western Australia.

The new space spans 227 square metres, which is roughly half the size of a standard basketball court, with the interior said to draw inspiration from Salomon’s mountain heritage.

Salomon Australia head of marketing Briony Kent said Karrinyup is an important step in its retail growth across Australia. The brand is set to have 11 stores, which also includes the upcoming opening of Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast.

"Perth is home to a thriving running, hiking and style community that already embodies everything Salomon stands for,” Kent said. “This store is our opportunity to become part of that community - to show up on the trails, support local events and connect with the people who are already embracing the outdoors.

“Our ambition is to build something genuine and lasting, not simply be another sneaker brand. "

To mark the opening, the first 50 guests through the doors from 9:00am on August 15 will receive a complimentary Salomon gift bag. Meanwhile, Salomon will hide a golden ticket for one customer to find, offering a year’s supply of Salomon footwear.

Everyone waiting in the opening queue will also receive a premium Salomon ripstop tote, milk glass mug, and branded carabiner.

The Karrinyup opening marks Salomon's third flagship store, and adds to under a dozen stores altogether. Salomon is owned by Amer Sports, the same company that owns Arc’teryx. Both brands have been scaling their retail channels in Australia over the last two years.
