International Woolmark Prize winner Ruchika Sachdeva is landing in Australia this week.
Sachdeva, who took out the award in January, will be in the market to debut her collection at David Jones.
The following week, she will hold an exclusive event at Parlour X with boutique owner Eva Galambos.
The designer is known for her sustainable approach to fashion, with her Bodice Studio label based out of India.
The brand is aimed at the slow fashion market, with materials such as virgin wool, plant dyes and Ayurvedic herbs.
She combines traditional techniques such as Indian handlooms alongside state-of-the-art mill fabrics.
“Winning the International Woolmark Prize has given Bodice Studio the launchpad to achieve all my dreams for the label,” she said. “I’m continuing to use wool; its versatility, sustainable impacts and its sculptural beauty for the wearer is integral to what we do.
