Surfwear brand Rip Curl has expanded its retail network with a new flagship store at Sydney Domestic Airport.

The 86-square-metre store is located inside the Virgin Terminal at Sydney Domestic airport, and is the eighth airport store to open for Rip Curl.

The store will feature a large array of Rip Curl "search products", including Mirage ultra-flex boardshorts, My Bikini swimwear, surf and fashion watches, eyewear, and luggage among other products tailored to the travel/adventure market.

Rip Curl retail general manager Natalie McLean said the mix of product, showcased within the brand new, globally designed retail space will also provide an engaging shopping experience for visitors and passengers in one of the busiest airports in the world.

“We are looking forward to providing a complete retail experience to the large volume of domestic travellers utilising Sydney airport. With our full range of Rip Curl products available we're confident the store will prove a success in the Australian market.”

Rip Curl was founded in 1969 in Torquay, Victoria, by entrepreneurs Doug Warbrick and Brian Singer. The company, which began by producing just surfboards, is now one of the largest boardwear brands in Australia, and sold across Europe and South America, North America and South Africa.
