Rip Curl subsidiary Ozmosis has appointed a new head to lead the business as it prepares to expand its retail footprint.

The national surf retailer, which currently operates 19 stores in Victoria and one store in New South Wales, has appointed Zeni Krasniqi to the role of general manager, effective June 1, following “an extensive executive search”.

Rip Curl CEO Asia Pacific Stephen Kay said Krasniqi, who has worked at Ozmosis since 2001 in roles from national marketing manager to Victorian operations manager, was the ideal candidate to expand the Ozmosis business as it prepares to embark on an ambitious national growth plan.

Kay also said Krasniqi's skills and depth of experience in retail sales and operations, marketing and strategic planning, will be crucial to the future of the Ozmosis retail chain as it expands throughout Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales.

“Zeni’s proven leadership capabilities in managing and delivering results in a challenging retail environment will be an valuable asset to the business going forward” he said.

Krasniqi will receive full support from parent company Rip Curl and from the senior executive team within the Ozmosis business as he moves into the new role.

Former general manager Tom Cahill has confirmed he will also continue to work closely with the business going forward, as a property leasing and management consultant.
