Australian apparel and footwear brand Ringers Western is targeting 20 more stores in its long-term ambition to be a national retailer.

Born on a remote cattle station in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, Ringers Western now has 18 stores across Australia, following recent openings in Penrith, Western Sydney and Cockburn Gateway south of Perth.

The brand has reported a 50 per cent growth in its annual revenue, hitting $70 million in FY25/26, adding that this is underpinning its investment in physical retail. This expanding retail network is buoyed by an e-commerce arm and a national wholesale network.

The recent openings venture into outer metropolitan areas, a slight change-up from the brand’s regional roots.

Ringers Western owner Emma Salerno said the evolution of the business into a national retail brand had exceeded expectations.

“Our business began as an idea sketched on the back of a Weet-Bix packet while sitting around a campfire on the family’s Kimberley cattle station in 2012,” Salerno said.

“It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come since launching in 2016. While Ringers Western is obviously a country clothing brand, there aren’t many people who don’t wear a T-shirt and a pair of jeans, or a great pair of boots, so we see an enormous opportunity to take the brand to a much broader audience.”

Salerno said opening stores in major metropolitan shopping centres is an important part of this future growth.

“We’re bringing the country to the city and making the Ringers Western brand more accessible to customers right across Australia.”

Chief operating officer Danny Hancock said the continued store rollout reflects confidence in the role physical retail plays alongside its online and wholesale channels.

“We see significant opportunity for Ringers Western in Australia, and our growing store network is an important part of how we introduce the brand and the lifestyle behind it to new customers,” Hancock said.

“Penrith and Cockburn are the next step in that strategy, but they certainly won’t be the last. We’re planning a further 20 stores nationally as we continue to grow our footprint and bring Ringers Western into new markets.”

The brand added that it is also looking beyond Australia, with longer-term ambitions to enter the United States and tap into the country’s established cowboy and Western culture.

“The US is a natural market for Ringers Western longer term. We’re already having discussions with potential partners, and our ambition is to begin rolling out stores there within the next two to three years,” Danny said.
