Myer, Just Jeans, Target and Rivers are among retailers implicated by the second wave of product recalls in as many months.

More than 120,000 clothing and bedding items have been recalled from major domestic retailers after they were ruled to be tainted with a carcinogen.

This is the second such instance in as many months, with Rivers and Just Jeans recalling product on the same grounds in March.

The consumer watchdog ruled the products contained azo dye, which can transfer to human skin and is hazardous to health.

The chemicals are currently banned in Europe, under restricted use in the US and will be classed as dangerous poision in Australia from June.

So far eight recalls covering 28 product lines have been negotiated, with more expected.

The latest recall includes:

Myer Milkshake jeans in sizes 3-8 on sale from July 2013 and Wayne Junior jeans in sizes 3-8 & 9-16 sold from February 2013.

Rivers AustraliaDoghouse style children’s dark-denim jeans & Doghouse style children’s black jeans.

Just Jeans — Just Jeans junior girls size 8 to 16 super skinny jeans and ankle skinny Jeans. It also includes junior boys size 8 to 16 skinny cargo pants, cargo shorts and chino pants.
