New Zealand's Postie Plus Group (PPG) has appointed a new retail guru to its board of directors.
Kylie Tate has joined the family clothing focused group, which operates Postie, Babycity and school uniform business SchoolTex, as an independent director.
Tate began with Australian retail giant Myer as a cadet before transferring to New Zealand as product manager in women’s apparel for Kmart.
She then produced clothing ranges for other retailers under contract before founding her own womenswear label, Redhead in 2000.
She has supplied more than 200 fashion stores across New Zealand and Australia and chairman of the PPG, Richard Punter, said it was her wealth of experience that made her such an ideal candidate.
“Kylie brings the supply chain, retail and merchandising skill sets that support the board’s going strategy of strengthening and growing its core retail brand," Punter said.
