An Australian fashion retail giant is venturing into the childrenswear market.

Jeanswest has launched a new line aimed at children aged six months to four years, Jeanswest Jnr.

Jeanswest Jnr product manager Penny Byrne said consumer research showed price and quality are the two most important factors for parents when buying children's clothing.

"Working towards the launch of Jeanswest Jnr has been a lot of fun for us. We’ve seen fantastic growth in our maternity range which launched earlier this year and we’re now excited to be able to offer our customers clothing for the next step of their journey, making it easier for them to shop for the whole family.”

Byrne said all pieces are machine washable and jeans come with a lifetime manufacturing warranty.

“Each of the monthly collections will be driven by a key story. The first is themed around a garden party for the girls with pretty florals, rainbows, pinks and corals, whilst for the boys it’s about adventure with ‘Are we there yet?’ slogans and fun prints."

Priced from  $14.99 to $39.99, Jeanswest Jnr will be available in selected stores, throughout Australia and New Zealand and online from September 10.
