Rebel and TK Maxx have opened stores in a former Big W tenancy space at Parkmore Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s south-east.
Big W had ended the lease on the Parkmore site last year, with TK Maxx being one of the first to take on the space. TK Maxx opened its store there on August 13. On August 20, Rebel officially opened its doors, with supermarket chain Aldi jumping in as well.
TK Maxx now operates 96 locations Australia-wide, while Rebel now operates over 160 stores nationwide.
Big W’s store count dropped by one in FY26, to 178.
The three openings at Parkmore this year come after the centre reportedly hit record sales of $320 million in 2025, with more than 7.5 million customer visits.
Parkmore Shopping Centre manager, Jo Bush, said signing on the three retailers to take on one new precinct is key milestone in its new chapter.
“Following our strongest year on record, this investment reflects our confidence in Parkmore and the community we serve. We’re incredibly excited to welcome these three major retailers and celebrate this milestone with our customers.”
