Rebel is expanding its Melbourne metropolitan rollout, signing a new lease 28 kilometres southeast of Melbourne CBD.

The sporting retailer’s new store will be located at Parkmore Shopping Centre in Keysborough, joining the likes of Best & Less, Platypus Shoes and Kmart.

Parkmore is owned by GPT Group, with the company confirming in a press release that Rebel’s new store there will open in the fourth quarter of 2026. This is expected to follow 8 new store openings by the sporting retailer in FY26, as noted by Rebel’s parent company Super Retail Group in its AGM presentation.

By FY25 end, Rebel had 162 stores in operation.

GPT Group also confirmed that Kmart has recently updated its store in the centre in May this year, introducing a modern layout, centralised checkouts, select-and-collect kiosks and direct-to-boot services. Aldi is also set to open a new supermarket in late 2026.

Over the last year, Parkmore recorded $320 million in sales and reportedly attracted more than 7.5 million customer visits.

“Parkmore has always been a strong community destination, and it’s exciting to see heritage paired with record results and significant new investment,” Parkmore centre manager Jo Bush said.

“The refurbishments highlight our long-standing retailer partnerships, while our new openings bring fresh variety that customers are responding to, such as sporting brand, Rebel Sport, and larger major supermarket store, Aldi.”
