This week will mark the third anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh.

The 2013 tragedy saw 1,134 Bangladeshi garment factory workers lose their lives when building caved in due to poor infrastrucure.

It remains the worst disaster to have ever hit the garment industry.

Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) has commemorated those injured or deceased while because of the tradgey and has thanked the Australian retailers who have since actioned greater regulation for outsourcing models.

There are currently around 90 brands in Australia that have received accreditation from the ECA for creating transparency in their supply chain as well as compliance with Australian law.

An international campaign is now set to launch as part of Fashion Revolution Week that will aim to promore transparency and educate businesses on the importance of safe working conditions.

Australian brands accredited by ECA include Jeanswest, Cue and Veronika Maine.

The official anniversary of Rana Plaza is this Sunday April 24.
