The official ceremonial uniforms for the Australian Paralympic Team at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games were unveiled at a special event held at Admiralty House in Sydney this week.
Designed and manufactured by R.M.Williams, the new round of uniforms marks a 15-year partnership between the booting and apparel brand and the local Paralympic teams. That includes nine consecutive Summer and Winter Games since Vancouver in 2010.
“We’re proud to stand alongside Paralympics Australia once again, supporting our athletes whose grit, determination and spirit reflect the heart of our nation,” R.M.Williams CEO Paul Grosmann said. “Outfitting a team built on courage and commitment is a privilege we hold close, and we’re honoured to ensure they feel they both confident and connected to home as they compete for their country.”
The Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC joined around 100 delegates, athletes and media to showcase the range.
Designs include formal looks for both male and female representatives, plus limited-edition versions of the bestselling Gardener Boot. All styles were built with accessibility in mind, including adaptive detailing such as magnetic fasteners, non-zip pockets and zip modifications across boots.
Australian fibres and natural materials were a focus in the range, with footwear and leather accessories crafted from oiled nubuck and double butt leathers, paired with Australian lambswools, Australian merino, and classic Australian cotton jerseys utilised across knitwear and soft accessories.
Outerwear is rendered in soft moleskins, pure wool and recycled tech fibres, whilst classic washed oxford shirting is matched with stretch moleskin bottoms.
The range includes the Kalkite Padded Jacket for men and Lawson Padded Coat for women, both crafted from a technical Italian blend of organic cotton and recycled polyamide and filled with 100 per cent recycled Primaloft.
Collins and Onley oxford shirting in 100 per cent organic cotton is crafted within the R.M.Williams’ Adelaide workshop and detailed with longhorn embroidery in gold, whilst the Jones Cable Knit Crewneck and Seaforth Cable Knit Sweater utilise superfine Australian lambswool.
Completing the collection are accessories, including the Paralympics Kit Scarf knitted in Melbourne from 100 per cent merino, the Slim Drover Belt and the Akubra Traveller Hat. The uniforms once again feature ‘The Journey’ by indigenous artist Rheanna Lotter, a proud Yuin woman and founder of the Aboriginal art collective Ngandabaa.
The artwork has featured in every Paralympic uniform since its introduction in 2016 and features eight circles to represent the Australian states and territories, tracks to represent the connection between the Paralympians, and boomerangs to represent challenges overcome in the journey to the Games. This year, the artwork sits on the inner linings of uniforms.
Despite the warm day in Sydney, where temperatures hit 26 degrees, a select range of Paralympians showcased the full uniforms in a runway-like presentation.
The range was conceived through close collaboration with the Paralympic team.
