Ragtrader Live 2014 boasted one of the most powerful speaker lineups to date.

Ragtrader's September 2014 edition offers a full roundup of the event. Below is a preview from the ten-part roundup.

General Pants CEO Craig King has executed a series of innovations at the streetwear chain in the past 18 months.

While these have bridged the gap between online and offline retail, King reveals they have also been substantial sales drivers.

General Pants Stylefinder, a GPS-based app which allows staff to locate stock between stores and route delivery to customers the following day, has been among the most successful.

“The first week that went live, we did $40,000 in sales and it’s now $60,000 on average in the last 18 months,” he said.

Another innovation, the launch of in-store kiosks, has encouraged foot traffic by allowing customers to interact with the store, from browsing and ordering stock to selecting music.

“If you know your song is going to come on in 12 minutes, that extends dwell times”.

Even ‘pureplay’ retailers have seen the benefits of extending operational channels.

Ozsale CEO Carl Jackson described mobile as “absolutely underpinning” the company’s customer journey.

“We are a pureplay and I spend about 90 per cent of my advertising money on mobile. I’ve got three million apps downloaded and 60 per cent of my revenue is mobile”.
