Australian sleepwear label Papinelle has opened a new store in Commercial Bay, Auckland New Zealand.
The new 75sqm Commercial Bay store joins the brand's flagship NZ store in Newmarket.
However, it wasn't without delays that the new store opened, as Papinelle partner Nicki Kelly explains.
"The store was due to open September 2019 however massive delays on the whole project pushed it out to March 2020.
"Then COVID hit so it was delayed again.
"We were all set to take the keys the week before the COVID pandemic.
"It was a very stressful period not knowing what was going to happen with retail doors shutting for two months.
"We have now finally opened and it was well and truly worth the wait," she said.
Having the second store will allow the business to cater to the NZ customer's demand for variety across the products, Kelly said.
"We are so lucky to have a strong retail footprint in NZ with stores in the best locations.
"We find that NZ customers are looking for more variety in the sleep and loungewear category which is our strength.
"At the moment it is winter in Australia and New Zealand, so all of the 'Cozy Comfies' are flying out the door.
"Plush robes, pure silks, feathersoft loungewear, beautiful brushed PJ sets in soft feminine prints [are popular at the moment].
"We sold out of our Soft Waffle at the beginning of lockdown, and recently restocked and we're almost sold out again!
"We have a large range and with our business being strong in Australia and North America, we have the ability to provide an exciting on trend product offer all year round," she said.
