Online shopping club Ozsale.com.au has struck yet another milestone, achieving record revenue in a hefty pre-Christmas sale windfall.
Ozsale, which was founded in 2006 and is part of the Apac Sale Group, hit $1.3 million in revenue in just 24 hours last week, as it builds up towards the holiday trading season.
In addition to the $1.3 million in revenue, figures from Ozsale’s 'million dollar day' saw consumers place 20,000 orders, with 50,000 items sold at a rate of one item per 1.7 seconds.
Thirty per cent of transactions were also made via mobile, including apps, with 10,000 new members also joining the club, taking the total members to seven million across the group.
Commenting on the coup, Apac Sale Group chairman and founder Jamie Jackson said the trends suggest that that ‘saving is the new fashion’ and that customers are taking full advantage of the discounts online.
“Online retail is the sensible consumer choice, there will be no mad rush for presents and the savvy shoppers will save on purchases they make now,” he said.
“This must be the biggest day ever by an online fashion retailer in Australia. The figures for this record million dollar day show consumers are willing to spend to save if they know they’re getting a hot deal. We have the best deals with the best brands and predict this revenue trend to continue throughout the busy Christmas shopping period.”
