Topshop billionaire Sir Philip Green purchased a 25 per cent stake in Ozsale this year - this is what it did next.

Sports Direct International plc, the UK’s largest high street sports retailer, has announced plans to launch in Australia by forming an online partnership with OzSale.

Ozsale will give Sports Direct immediate access to its 12 million members worldwide through the joint venture.

Ozsale CEO Carl Jackson will be speaking at Ragtrader Live on August 12. Book your tickets here!

The Australian site will be launched later this year and be ready to ship goods in the same month.

Sports Direct will also open three flagship stores in Australia and one in New Zealand, replicating its UK retail model.

The company will host an OzSale outlet within each of the stores.

It is currently working on the project and will announce a partnership with a leading Australian retail partner shortly.

OzSale founder and executive vice chairman Jamie Jackson revealed this is not the first time the two companies have joined forces.

"Sports Direct showed its confidence in our business when it took a 4.8 per cent stake in us a month ago, shortly after our successful IPO. This partnership is the logical next step in the development of our relationship.”
