Made-to-measure retailer Oscar Hunt has acquired menswear brand Tailors Mark in an informal tender process.
Tailors Mark founders Rob Fisher and Dave McLaughlin have since stepped away from the business, with Oscar Hunt founder Chris Edwards and his team preparing to leverage the brand alongside Oscar Hunt. No other changes have been made to staffing at either brands.
As well as an undisclosed cash component to purchase the brand and all of its associated assets, Oscar Hunt will also license apparel sizing technology by Bodd in the United States, with a launch in North America planned ahead. Bodd was also founded by both Fisher and McLaughlin.
The brands will remain separate for now, however, Oscar Hunt is reportedly consolidating supply across both businesses, with both businesses already sharing similar supply chain structures. Oscar Hunt is also considering consolidating the back-end online ordering capability between both brands.
Tailors Mark has an online e-commerce store, while Oscar Hunt operates both online and in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Prahran.
Edwards said he and the team are thrilled with the acquisition.
“We have always had the utmost respect for the Tailors Mark offering and are honoured to become the stewards of the brand moving forward,” Edwards said.
“We look forward to offering Tailors Mark customers the incredible service and experience that all Oscar Hunt customers have come to love.”
Tailors Mark was founded in 2013, and alongside a large customer base in Australia has more than 30,000 customers globally.
Oscar Hunt is eyeing off international expansion plans, potentially leveraging Tailors Mark existing overseas customer database.
