Australian luxury retailer Oroton has opened its latest store in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, adding to a raft of openings over the last year.

The Double Bay store is located on the corner of Bay Street and Short Street. It will stock a curated range of the brand’s fashion and accessories.

Double Bay is home to a selection of premium and luxury offerings, including the likes of Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, Mode Sportif and Cue.

Oroton’s 137 square metre store adds to a portfolio of premium locations held by the brand, including in Paddington and Mosman in New South Wales, Burnside Village in South Australia, and Brighton and Armadale in Victoria.

The opening marks the eleventh new store opening in the past twelve months, including six retail stores, one archive store and four outlet locations.

There are also upcoming store openings scheduled for Chatswood Chase and Castle Towers in NSW.

In total, Oroton has 48 stores globally, including over 20 retail stores, over a dozen outlets, and just over 10 concessions.

“Opening in Double Bay feels incredibly fitting: it’s elegant, evolving, and full of energy,” Oroton CEO Peter Halkett said.

“We’re building on the best of Oroton’s heritage - quality, craft, and authenticity, and translating that for today’s customer.”

The new store was designed under the vision of Oroton creative director Sophie Holt. It features khaki green tiles and blue curtain tones, and a curated mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings.

The space also showcases rare pieces such as a 1950s Danish Poul Cadovius shelving unit and original artwork by local artist Nina Walton, whose studio is located around the corner in Redleaf.

“We wanted the Double Bay store to feel more like a home than a shop,” Holt said.

“It’s warm and material-driven - with timber, brass, soft leather, and light. There’s a calm confidence in the space, and that really reflects where we are as a brand.”

In tandem with store expansion, Oroton is also growing its product mix – expanding apparel and men's offerings across its network.
